Bangladesh’s premier golfer Siddikur Rahman won the 7th Paragon Professional Golf Tournament and grabbed a paycheque of Taka 1.3 lakh taka at the Kurmitola Golf Club (KGC) on Tuesday.

Ace Bangladesh golfer Siddikur Rahman emerged champion at the 7th Paragon Professional Golf Tournament at Kurmitola Golf Club in Dhaka Tuesday. He received Tk1,30,000 as prize money. Siddikur carded five-under-par 71 in three days to lift the trophy while Dulal Hossain and Jakir Uzzaman both played two-over-par and jointly shared second position.
The KGC has declared par-71 course for this tournament to align with upcoming Asian Tour to be held in this venue. Usually, KGC is played in par-72 course.

Md Shamim became winner in the amateur group. A total of 78 professional golfers from all over Bangladesh participated in this event along with amateur golfers from national team and Bangladesh Golf Academy. Major General Md Zahirul Islam, ndc, psc, Vice President of Kurmitola Golf Club was the chief guest in the concluding ceremony and distributed the prizes to the winners.

Country’s premier golfer Siddikur Rahman logged his best finish of the season so far after securing joint-third spot at the Mercuries Taiwan Masters today.
Siddikur, the two-time Asian Tour winner, carded one-under-par 71 on the final day to score a total nine-under-par 279 in four rounds. He was tied for third alongside Sarit Suwannarut from Thailand. “That’s a big relief for me because I was really struggling from the beginning of this year. I mean, and now I just finished tied third, so I think I have secured my card for next year. Definitely, I will be able to play without tension,” said Siddikur after the feat.

Siddikur last won the Asian Tour title at the Indian Open in 2013. He participated in 15 tournaments this year with previous best finish being 32nd at the Shinhan Donghae Open last month.

After the second round, three players –Siddikur Rahman, Dulal Hossain and Zakir Uzzaman—shared the top slot jointly scoring two under par (minus two). The KGC has declared a par 71 course for this tournament to align with the upcoming Asian Tour to be held in this venue. Usually, KGC is par 72 course. Mohammad Shamim became the winner in the amateur group scoring eight over par (plus 8).

A total 78 professional golfers from all over Bangladesh took part in this event along with amateur golfers from the National Team and Bangladesh Golf Academy. Major General Md Zahirul Islam, Vice President of Kurmitola Golf Club was the chief guest at the day’s prize distribution ceremony and later he distributed the prizes among the winner. Moshiur Rahman, Managing Director of the meet sponsor Paragon Group, was also present at the function as the special guest. The Social Marketing Company (SMC) is the ‘Electrolyte Partner’ of BPGA.
