Joe Allen will be fit for Wales when they face Iran on Friday.

The midfielder missed the games against the United States because of a hamstring injury. He has been out of action since September 17.

But he is now ready to play in his nation’s second game.

Head coach Rob Page said: “We’ve got a few tired bodies as you can imagine. Joe Allen got through his fitness test for us so that’s good news. He’s fit and raring to go so we’ve got a decision to make on that. Everyone else is fighting fit.”

Page also heaped praise on Gareth Bale, who scored a late penalty against the USMNT on Monday to rescue a point.

He said: “He’s (Bale) gone to another level overnight, with what he’s done. He admits himself it wasn’t one of his better games over the ninety minutes, but when you needed it he turned it on. He’s gone it time and time again for us down the years when we’ve needed it, against Austria and he took the free-kick against Ukraine.”

Iran lost their opening game 6-2 against England.
