Didier Deschamps received a huge boost yesterday with his full complement of players training ahead of today’s final.

France had looked to be in quite a bit of trouble previously, with Theo Hernandez and Dayot Upamecano recovering from injury and Ibrahima Konate and Raphael Varane isolating.

But those four trained with their team-mates yesterday, alongside Kingsley Coman, Adrien Rabiot and Dayot Upamecano, who had previously been afflicted with illness. Indeed, all three of those players did not feature in the semi-final win over Morocco, with Rabiot remaining at the team hotel due to his condition.

It remains to be seen exactly how fit all of Deschamps’ players are, after battling with injury and sickness, but certainly having them all present at training sent a strong message ahead of today’s game.

Though France won without regulars Rabiot and Upamecano, it will be a relief to see the pair back training since the Morocco match. Rabiot’s influence in midfield in particular was sorely missed, despite the 2-0 victory.
