The Colts have ruled out running back Jonathan Taylor from Saturday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings with an ankle injury, Indianapolis announced. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Taylor suffered the injury on the opening drive of the game after catching a short pass and running for 13 yards on second-and-14.
  • He was initially listed as questionable to return before heading to the locker room for further evaluation.

Backstory

Taylor, 23, missed Weeks 5 and 6 earlier this season due to a right ankle injury. He returned in Week 7 and re-aggravated his injury the following week in the Colts’ 17-16 loss to the Washington Commanders.

Taylor is in his third season with Indianapolis, who selected him in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He’s played in 10 games this season and entered Saturday with  861 rushing yards and four touchdowns.
