Christian Pulisic believes the United States will have made fans at home proud with their result against England.

Pulisic featured as the USMNT played out a 0-0 against England on Friday, a result which means their fate is in their own hands going into their last game against Iran on Tuesday.

Gregg Berhalter’s side need a win to finish in the top two in Group B.

The Chelsea forward, who was named man of the match, suggested they can now finish the job and get through the group.

Pulisic said: “I felt like we were a team out there who showed a lot of confidence and battled toe-to-toe with a very solid team.

“We did that for everyone back home watching — I hope we made a lot of people proud, but the job is not even close to done so we’ve got a lot of work left to do.

“I think the team has come a very long way and I think we should be proud of the performance, but most of all it should spark confidence and give us a great feeling going into this last match that’s a must win for us.

“So once the job’s finished and we get through the group we can enjoy that again. And then it’s right back to work. So we’re nowhere near where we want to be, we still have a lot of work to do in this tournament.”
